Upcoming Digital Government Automation Initiative for the Union of Progressive Micronations

The Union of Progressive Micronations (UPM) has experienced terrific growth since its founding in 2024. With this growth, the administrative workload has also increased. To continue fulfilling its objectives, the UPM is entering a new phase of digital transformation.

In recent months, after closely reviewing internal operations, the UPM identified the need to modernize its processes to keep pace with its rapid expansion. Currently, the UPM uses a mixture of both manual and automated workflow methods. While this hybrid approach has delivered amazing results, manual tasks, such as reviewing applications, updating records, issuing certificates, tracking proposal submissions, and responding to administrative inquiries, have resulted in slower response times and limited the UPM’s ability to scale.

To address this problem, the UPM will be shifting away from manual processes and implementing a stronger automation-first approach supported by new internal tools. This digital transformation will touch several essential areas of governance, including automated member state onboarding, improved data management, smarter governance tools, and automated citizen services.

With this digital transformation, the UPM aims to achieve faster processing times for all government services, reduced administrative workload for staff, greater consistency and accuracy, and scalability.

This modernization marks a significant milestone in the UPM’s development and highlights what the UPM aims to achieve: progress.
